NEWS

A former Halfmoon Township supervisor is joining a crowded race for state representative of the 77th District, while a State College Planning Commission member is choosing not to run.

Flowers and balloons will no longer be filling sorority floor hallways because of a recent policy change in the greek community.

In response to controversial remarks made by Undergraduate Student Government (USG) President Galen Foulke, members of the Penn State Jewish community attended Tuesday's Senate meeting to vocalize their disappointment.

Penn State could see a 4-percent increase in state funding, roughly $13 million, under the 2006-07 state budget plan proposed yesterday -- but Penn State officials say the increase is not enough to execute the plan for a tuition freeze at Commonwealth Campuses.

The Penn State School of Music has yet another achievement to add to its repertoire: a Grammy Award-winning professor.

Three students who have been working alongside administrators from the Penn State Division of Student Affairs in the planning of a new programming board held an open student forum last night to get feedback and answer questions.

BELLEFONTE -- A Victorian hotel and historic landmark on Bellefonte's main street was destroyed yesterday after flames engulfed the building in the early morning hours, closing surrounding streets and causing area power outages.

The ascent up the record books has not been as picturesque as it's supposed to be, but it's still worthy of the word "wow."

One of the goals of the Penn State Lady Lions is to protect the Bryce Jordan Center.

Imagine you are standing next to Miami Heat 7-foot-1 center Shaquille O'Neal. Now picture yourself running up and trying to jump over him.

Travis Parker sat hunched over on the sidelines with a towel draped over his head. He leaned forward, resting his face in his hands.

When visiting teams leave the Bryce Jordan Center, they sometimes leave lost and found items for Penn State women's basketball coach Rene Portland.

With his women's basketball tickets in hand, Bill Asbury hasn't always found his way to his seat.

That fall back down to earth can be oh so humbling.

ARTS

Traditionally No Refund Theatre is known for putting on plays, however this weekend it plays host to improv.

Storefronts decorated in hearts and lace. Mannequins sporting sexy red lingerie. Roses suddenly tripling in price. These signs can only mean one thing -- Cupid's coming to Happy Valley.

"How is your vagina doing today?"

Country sounds will come to State College tomorrow as Rascal Flatts take the stage at the Bryce Jordan center.

For years, entertainment acts have been raising money for charitable events.

Drinking is something most college students enjoy discussing.

For many adults, the name Jim Henson is synonymous with a talking frog, a giant bird and a childhood filled with the wonderful puppet creations that were the Muppets and Sesame Street.

America could probably cure poverty for, like, weeks with all the money corporations throw into ad time during the Super Bowl. But who needs social justice when millions of people are watching fat men running into each other at the same time?

Fred Garbo Inflatable Theater Company will bounce, dance and juggle when it performs Sunday at Eisenhower Auditorium.

Cinders is a play about a fairytale in a less-than-fairytale setting.

It's time again for the question "What should I get my valentine?"
