Basketball win over Illinois a bigger story than Steelers
The Daily Collegian really dropped the ball with its front-page story and picture Monday. Yes, the Steelers winning is a big story on this campus, but it is not nearly as important as the Penn State men's basketball squad going to Illinois and ending their 33-game home winning streak ("Lions win after disputed shot call," Feb. 6). This is a much bigger story for this university than a team out of Pittsburgh, regardless of how many Steelers fans are here. Many Steelers fans who are basketball fans agree that the Collegian made an error in judgment here. Unfortunately, this just represents the view of most on this campus about this team. Wake up, everybody! Football season is over and in case you didn't notice (and judging by attendance, you haven't) this team plays their heart out every night. Let's fill up the Bryce Jordan Center for the rest of the home games. Wear white, be loud and show the Big Ten that Penn State isn't just back in football. Zac Wassink
