Two arrested on stolen credit card charges
Police say the pair purchased merchandise from Radio Shack in the Nittany Mall on a stolen credit card on Monday.

Two suspects were stopped short of their shopping spree at the Nittany Mall on Monday when they were arrested by a State College police officer who walked up to them and asked about the stolen credit card they were shopping with.

Ramona Tiburcio, 26, of Patterson, N.J., and Aldo Garcia Danos, 37, of Peru, were approached by Officer Robert Bradley after the police confirmed they purchased merchandise from Radio Shack on a stolen credit card, according to the criminal complaint.

The criminal complaint stated that Tiburcio and Danos were carrying multiple shopping bags containing merchandise.

After being asked about the credit card, Tiburcio pointed to Danos and said that he had given her the credit cards.

Bradley located Robin Oliver's wallet, three credit cards bearing her name and several store receipts indicating multiple purchases were made using Oliver's credit cards.

Bradley met with several vendors at the mall, who confirmed Tiburcio signed the receipts with Oliver's name.

The State College Police Department said Tiburcio made 13 separate purchases Monday morning, totaling $3,268.06, mostly in electronics.

Tiburcio was charged with 13 counts of identity theft, 12 counts of forgery, two counts of receiving stolen property, 13 counts of vice fraud, 13 counts of theft by deception, one count of criminal conspiracy (access device fraud), one count of theft of property and one count of criminal attempt (access device fraud).

Danos was charged with one count of criminal conspiracy to commit access to vice fraud and one count of receiving stolen property.

Police said there was another man with Tiburcio and Danos. He was identified but was not charged with anything.

"There are additional leads we have that we're looking into with other jurisdictions," Bradley said.

Police said this was an important arrest because the "roots go deeper than these three people," and the investigation is continuing.

Danos and Tiburcio were arraigned before District Justice Tom Jordan and were placed in Centre County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Their preliminary hearings are scheduled to take place next Wednesday at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
