Off-campus students benefit from union work
I find it very hard to stomach criticism of a group that is struggling, and has from its inception, to get students who live off campus informed ("Off-Campus Student Union: Web site better solution than newswire service," Jan. 31). The Off-Campus Student Union is only two years old and has worked diligently to help get off-campus student issues one everyone's minds. The idea of the newswire is one that has been "in the works" for over a year, and is one that has merit. Students who live off campus are incredibly uninformed and are getting taken advantage of. Additionally, they are not taking full advantage of the town they call home for four years. Instead of griping about the methods that the union is using to inform students, help contribute to students becoming an informed population, or better yet, get involved with the union. Off-campus issues affect more than 28,000 students. It's worth your time. I know it was worth mine. Kristen Kofmehl
Former president, Off-Campus Student Union
