Letter to the Editor
U.S. military personnel deserve more respect

Perhaps The Daily Collegian's Board of Opinion should look at the military from another point of view ("U.S. Troops Abroad: Recruitment numbers show tough fight ahead," Feb. 2).

Yes, it is sad when someone dies in war, but you also have to consider that no one forced anyone to enlist. When someone enlists, they understand the risks. How can someone say something like this you ask? Well my brother just got back from Iraq, and I can assure you when he enlisted in 1990, he knew that at some point he might go to war.

So perhaps instead of writing your garbage, you should give some respect to the people who are willing to give up their lives so you can continue to write your babble in the Collegian.
