Lying American politicians common throughout country
In reference to Springer Wahl's letter ("Democrats continue to lie about taxes, minimum wage," Jan. 30), I would like to say this: You sir, are absolutely correct. How dare a politician go back on his word. What would the world be coming to if politicians didn't keep every campaign promise they made over the span of their careers? Absolute chaos. And, because Gov. Ed Rendell is a Democrat, then, by George, all Democrats are liars. It's obviously all a scheme to steal our votes and eat our children. I mean, let's ignore the fact that the Pennsylvania House of Representatives is split between the two parties and the Senate has a Republican majority, and look at the cold, hard facts. Rendell didn't do what he said he would. Checks and balances? Hogwash. He should've bullied those sissy representatives. Winners make it happen. A politician going back on a campaign promise is so incredibly uncommon that only a low-down, dirty Democrat could do such a thing. I'm going to pack my bags and head for Canada, where all the politicians are truthful. Ben Wolfert
