Gyms, fitness areas worth every penny students pay
The Penn State fitness facilities are more than adequate. In response to the letter, "PSU gym, fitness facilities not worth the time, money" Jan. 30, maybe you should think about why Penn State charges a fee before you start complaining. There are thousands of students on campus and, whether we like it or not, there will be lines at the gym. A $72 price tag may deter some students who would be less inclined to use the facilities, but it'll guarantee that the students who really want to be there will be. Besides granting you access to multiple facilities, the fee also allows you to attend many fitness classes.Other gyms would charge you hundreds of dollars more for the same thing. So consider yourself lucky for the deal Penn State is giving its students. If you don't appreciate what Penn State is offering you then don't go to the gym anymore. You'll be one less person getting in the way of everyone else. Ryan Hendricks
