An 18-year-old New York City woman, allegedly planning to deal cocaine in State College, was arrested shortly after leaving the Greyhound Bus Station, 152 N. Atherton St., on Thursday.
Kristal Felicia Roach, who was found with 77 bags of crack cocaine, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and criminal use of a communication facility, according to court documents.
Pennsylvania State Police estimated the cocaine weighed 22 grams and had a street value of $4,000.
A confidential informant told state troopers that Roach would be traveling on the bus and carrying cocaine to be sold locally, the State College Police Department said.
After Roach got off the bus, an undercover state trooper called her cell phone to arrange a time to purchase cocaine.
Roach initially told the officer he would have to meet her in Bellefonte to make the purchase, but they later decided to meet in a State College parking lot instead, State College police said.
State College police Sgt. Dana Leonard said Roach told state police that she has taken the trip from New York to Centre County numerous times to deal cocaine.
"She has been a mid-level drug dealer for the past several weeks," he said.
Leonard said she is believed to be associated with other people who are also dealing cocaine locally.
"Cocaine arrests this size, and with this frequency, are not that common in Centre County," he said.
Roach told state police that she had been to Bellefonte two times before, and she made more than $1,000 each time.
The state police unit out of Troop G, the State College Police Department, the state attorney general's office narcotics investigation bureau and the Centre County Drug Task Force worked together on the bust, according to a state police press release.
Roach, who was arraigned before District Judge Allen Sinclair, is being held at Centre County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.
