Man faces assault charges for beating
A 19-year-old man who allegedly punched his 18-year-old girlfriend in the face and choked her was sent to Centre County Prison in lieu of $150,000 bail Sunday.
According to court documents, Kyle Boslego, of State College, accused his girlfriend of cheating on him and threatened to kill her on the 700 block of Stratford Drive early Sunday morning.
The victim told police that she escaped and ran to a friend's house. The victim's mother took her to Mount Nittany Medical Center later that morning.
According to court documents, the victim had a swollen and cut lower lip, red marks on her neck and upper chest area, red bruises on her midsection, a swollen and bruised left hand, and a bruised right leg.
Boslego is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and harassment.
Woman reports sexual assualt at hotel
Police are investigating a possible sexual assault after a 28-year-old woman reported she awoke to a man having involuntary intercourse with her Saturday night.
The woman, who was drinking with the man and a group of friends earlier in the night, told police she awoke in a room and confronted the man sometime between 2 and 4 a.m. The man then put on his clothes and left.
Police said they believe the assault happened in a room of the Days Inn, 240 S. Pugh St.
The woman remembered the man from earlier in the night. Police would not comment on whether the woman knew his name.
Police search for men involved in fight
The State College Police Department is looking for a group of men who allegedly jumped a bouncer at Candy Bar and Lounge, 129 S. Pugh St., Saturday night.
Police said they have the names of three men who were involved in a separate fight inside the bar at about 12:40 a.m.
Police said they believe the same three men were also involved in assaulting the bouncer, who was hit by a thrown bottle and jumped by six to eight men at about 1 a.m. Police said they believe the men are Asian.
The victim suffered several cuts to the face and was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment.
Tony Sapia, owner of Candy Bar and Lounge, said he wasn't aware of the incident and police had not contacted him.
State College Police Sgt. Mark Argiro said the police are moving forward with the investigation and are waiting to review tapes from inside the bar.
No suspects for vandalization incidents
Police are investigating a string of incidents where sexual slurs and sexually explicit images were drawn on cars in Boalsburg.
Two cars on the 500 block of West Drive and two cars on the 300 block of Homestead Lane were vandalized using what police called "a paint marker."
Police said the incidents are related. They have no suspects.
Employee: customers set off fireworks
The State College Police Department was called to MinitMart, 106 N. Atherton St., Saturday night after an employee reported that individuals were shooting off fireworks in the store.
Police said a few people were upset that the clerk would not sell them cigarettes because they didn't have identification, so they decided to detonate fireworks inside the store.
It was unclear whether the individuals were minors. They were gone on arrival, police said.
