Not all PSU professors allow political biases in classroom
In response to Nick Ennis' letter, "Professors should leave bias at classroom door," Jan. 20, don't you realize you've managed to undermine your own argument by using just one example of a professor's behavior to admonish all professors? You even said yourself that, "most of the professors I have had here have been able to put their views aside when teaching." Great, so then the majority of your professors are actually teaching the way you want them to. I would hope you seized the opportunity to engage your professor in a debate over the opinions you disagreed on, because for you to neglect such a chance is a shame when you obviously feel strongly about the issue. Instead you've chosen an arguably less effective forum to send that specific professor a message. It's very possible that he or she has not read about your impassioned views and will continue teaching the way you find so detestable. Elizabeth Lee
