Greek community victimized; deserves to be given break
Greek life is not as cool as it used to be ("IFC to change constitution, halt exotic dancing," Jan. 19). Now the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council are just puppets and are more problematic than helpful. I am no longer in a fraternity and I am glad I experienced the best of it, which happens to be in the past. I still support my former fraternity in all it does but I am disappointed in what greek life has turned out to be. College is about learning and having fun. Late Night Penn State doesn't cut it for many of us. Drinking, although it is bad, is still a huge part of college fun no matter what anyone thinks. Greek life wasn't always all about partying, it was about becoming part of a community and being proud to represent your organization. I'm not saying you shouldn't be proud to be greek now, but within the past year or so it has been tough to be greek. I think greeks have been a unwarranted victims and deserve a break. Gabe Ebanks
