I would like to applaud the Interfraternity Council for taking steps to improve the university community and prevent inappropriate behavior ("IFC to change constitution, halt exotic dancing" Jan. 19).
The use of exotic dancers and strippers to lure new members is not only lewd, but sad. While I have chosen not to pledge myself to a fraternal life, I generally pass no judgments on those who have. However, if all an organization has to offer is cheap sex and alcohol, then perhaps it should examine its place in the community and whether or not membership makes a positive impact in anyone's life.
It becomes a question of determination. Are you determined to derive the most enriching experience from your time at Penn State, or waste four years on cheap thrills and a handful of friends with questionable morals?
