SPORTS

In what was pegged to be a hard-fought and tightly played defensive struggle between two of the ACHA's top teams, the No. 4 Penn State ACHA Division I Icers once again found a way to win.

The team knew all season that it was the best kept secret in women's collegiate ice hockey. This past weekend the Lady Icers let the rest of the nation in on the secret.

The banner that hung at the end of the pool read "They just said it would be worth it."

The Penn State fencing team has once again proved that it not only has elite status in the college level, but on an international level as well.

The stands were filled on Saturday at McCoy Natatorium, and not just because the first 300 fans had a chance to win a Microsoft Xbox.

Penn State men's gymnast Josh Borromeo was swarmed by fans at the conclusion of the Nittany Lions' meet against Temple in Rec Hall on Friday night.

It's only normal that a team has jitters before its first meet. The No. 10 Penn State women's gymnastics team was struck by these jitters Saturday night, and it was unable to overcome them in time to win the home opener.

The average college student has constant demands from school, work, family obligations and with New Year's resolutions to eat healthy and stay physically fit, it can be difficult to balance class and exercise.
