Press wrong to ask Paterno about Nicholson allegations
Florida State linebacker A.J. Nicholson's problem is Bobby Bowden's and Florida State University's ("Women's group wants Paterno to resign," Jan. 9). It is not Joe Paterno's problem, and as of this day Nicholson has not been convicted of anything. Paterno may have been flippant in his response but the question was directed at the wrong person. The question shouldn't have been asked and this time, Paterno should've said "no comment." If the press and organizations such as the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Organization for Women continue to take issue with things such as this, the time will come when there are no press conferences and writers can make up their own stories.
