Paterno apology warranted; group should oppose Alito

The Daily Collegian Board of Opinion is correct in its opinion that Joe Paterno's comments were in poor taste but in no way merit his resignation ("Joe Paterno: Apology necessary for assault comments," Jan. 10).

The Pennsylvania chapter of the National Organization for Women should worry about more important things like the hearings on the next Supreme Court justice whom if confirmed, in my opinion, will affect women for decades. Now Samuel Alito is something to be concerned about.
