Paterno resignation request shows group's lack of focus
This story is, in my opinion, laughable ("Women's group wants Paterno to resign," Jan. 9). Sexual assault is a serious crime and is intolerable. Women's rights need to be respected and supporters of women's rights are by all means allowed to express their opinion. However, there is a line that has to be drawn when it comes to the power of a group with no NCAA or collegiate sports affiliation. Demanding the resignation of legendary football coach Joe Paterno because of comments he made that barely (if at all) defended Florida State linebacker A.J. Nicholson is absolutely ludicrous. We are closer than ever before to having a female president. I would just like to tell the Pennsylvania chapter of the National Organization for Women that a better cause is right around the corner. You should continue to help women and fight for their rights, but trying to oust JoePa is making you look ridiculous. Brendan Stenson
