Man dies in car crash on Route 322

A 45-year-old man was killed when he flipped his tractor-trailer on Route 322 on Wednesday night, according to a Centre County coroner report.

Benjamin Potter of Nescopeck was traveling westbound through College Township when his vehicle rolled over and landed upside down, trapping Potter inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Route 322 was closed for several hours following the accident, the State College Police Department said.

Police to investigate missing equipment

About $25,000 worth of hospital equipment was reported missing from Mount Nittany Medical Center on Thursday, the State College Police Department said.

Members of the medical center staff believe the five laparoscopes, valued at $5,000 each, were taken sometime in December, police said. Laparoscopes are about 12 to 18 inches long and are used for viewing the abdomen and pelvic areas. An investigation is pending, police said.
