Instead of allowing parking meters to tick back into negative minutes, would it not be more sensible to change the rate of the meters ("New parking meters allow five extra minutes," Dec. 7)?

Honestly, the amount of money that is made from tickets, garages and meters is probably some exorbitant amount, and I doubt that there would be much suffering if those parking in metered spaces were given a minute per cent. Since I graduated from college, I've been asking myself where the time has been going. Maybe I should look into this negative minute business and see if I can get some.
