Thon children benefit from fraternity work

Yes, it is not the intent of everyone to use the Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon to prove their organization has raised the most money ("Some Thon members forget true meaning," Dec. 8). But in the end, Penn State has raised millions of dollars for a great charity.

If you look at many other charitable events hosted by celebrities, it is rare that these events raise close to the amount that Thon does. So who cares who raises the most money, in the end, it is the kids who win.
