In response to numerous letters regarding Target's decision not to offer a particular drug in its pharmacy, I agree with Target's right to choose what to sell ("Refusal to fill Plan B a disservice to public," Dec. 6).
Target has no civic obligation to sell this product. Target needs no reason to defend its decision not to sell this product. Target is not a government-sponsored entity, and therefore, Target can choose how to stock its shelves, within the confines of the law. All complaints that Target is conducting a disservice to consumers are completely without merit. No one has to shop at Target and no one is forcing you to shop at Target. Forcing a business to sell a particular product is not the way America operates.
So, if you feel the need to purchase this product, take your business elsewhere. It may be inconvenient to you as a shopper, but you didn't pay to build Target at its location, so you have no say in what Target does or does not sell to pay the bills.
