Former Lion arraigned on threat charge

A former Penn State football player was arraigned yesterday and charged with terroristic threats -- a first-degree misdemeanor.

LaVon D. Chisley, 22, of 1400 Martin St., was arrested after he allegedly told his girlfriend's relative that he was going to get a gun and kill him, according to court documents.

The victim told police that he believed Chisley was in possession of a gun when he made the threats, according to court documents.

Officer Ryan Hendrick of the Ferguson Township Police Department said Chisley denied making the statements and told police he does not own a firearm. Hendrick said Chisley has no state firearm permit that police are aware of at this time.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Centre County Courthouse.
