Bowl ticket policies pose some problems

FedEx Orange Bowl tickets are very hard to get. I completely agree with the university giving wristbands to give everyone a fair chance of receiving a ticket ("Tickets to be allotted by lottery," Nov. 29). However, once a wristband is received, there is another step to the process.

You must be at the Bryce Jordan Center at 8 a.m. this morning to see which wristband is picked first and wait in line to see if/when your turn comes. I waited in line for two hours yesterday, and I understand my turn may never come to actually buy the ticket. But the reason I may not get a bowl ticket this year is because I have three finals and a final project, and the woman at the ticket office said I have to decide which is more important to me, the bowl game or my finals. Is this really the way that tickets should be given out? To threaten students that they have to miss their finals in order to receive a bowl ticket? It could happen that I should be number 2,245 to get a ticket but I will be working hard on a final exam.
