Co-op students hurt by wristband policy
I'm sick of hearing about how unfair the wristband policy is for obtaining bowl tickets and how it discounts that certain fans are willing to camp out for tickets. You want to hear something that's really unfair? Several students, like me, are being denied the chance to even obtain a wristband in hopes of parlaying it into a bowl ticket by the university. I am doing a co-op in Cincinnati, Oh., and made the 14-hour round-trip drive to attend five home games. I camped out at the Bryce Jordan Center to get Michigan tickets, am a dedicated fan and have sacrificed hundreds of dollars in gas money alone just to see my Nittany Lions. Now, the university has denied me the chance of going to a bowl game because I can't be physically present at the gates to receive a wristband. Several other students participating in co-op programs will suffer the same injustice, despite having full-time student status at University Park. The university has penalized me for striving to advance my career, accept new challenges and give Penn State a good name. Thank you, Penn State, for adding insult to the injury that is being away from campus during football season. Joe Nardozzi
