Student charged with criminal trespass
A Penn State student was arrested Saturday in connection with an altercation at about 4 that morning in a Beaver Hill apartment.
James F. Stenson, 19, of Haverford, allegedly forced his way into an apartment at 340 E. Beaver Ave. and accused the resident of throwing water balloons at him and his friends, according to court documents. When the resident threatened to call police, Stenson allegedly knocked a cell phone from her hand, stepped on it and kicked it into the hallway, according to court documents.
Stenson was charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, harassment and underage consumption of alcohol. He was released from Centre County Prison on $5,000 bail.
Six vehicles collide in Sunday accident
Six vehicles collided at about 1 a.m. Sunday on Shortlidge Road near College Avenue, Penn State University Police said. No injuries were reported, but four vehicles were slightly damaged. Two other vehicles were moderately damaged and were towed from the scene. Police said slippery road conditions contributed to the accident. The scene was cleared by 2:30 a.m., police said.
Student reports attempted phone theft
A Penn State student reported that an unknown man attempted to steal his cell phone at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday on the 400 block of East College Avenue, Penn State University Police said. When the student refused to give the man the phone, the man hit the student and kicked him while he was on the ground, police said. The man left the scene and a search of the area was not successful. University Ambulance Service personnel evaluated the student, but he refused treatment, police said.
