Gender, death penalty share real connection

The argument about the relationship between the death penalty and race is a red herring argument ("Davis calls for end to death penalty," Nov. 29). Just look at the disparity between the number of men who have been executed versus the number of women. Is the death penalty also sexist?

Also, if one is to use illogical points such as a comparison of the number of black defendants who have been executed for murdering a white person to the number of white defendants who have been executed for murdering a black person, one needs to see the whole numbers.

It is easy to just throw out arguments if you don't need them to stand up against logic. It is much harder to actually critically argue the point. Logic trumps idiocy every time.
