Police investigate bathroom incident

Penn State University Police are investigating an incident in which someone photographed a Penn State student without his permission in a HUB-Robeson Center bathroom stall at about noon Wednesday, police said.

Police Supervisor Frank Ball could not release any details about the incident because it is an active investigation. He said police have identified a suspect, and charges, which will include invasion of privacy, are pending.

Invasion of privacy is a second- or third-degree misdemeanor depending on the number of violations, Ball said. He could not reveal if there were multiple violations.

Ball said police have seen similar cases of invasion of privacy in the past, especially with the advent of new technologies. Police could not comment on a possible time line for the investigation.
