Letter to the Editor
Race, death penalty share no connection

In response to the article, "Davis calls for end to death penalty," Nov. 29, I believe the only reason Angela Davis is campaigning for Stanley "Tookie" Williams -- a California man who was sentenced to death after being found guilty of four robbery-homicides in 1979 -- is because of his nationality.

It really doesn't matter if a person is purple; murder is a crime, and the person committing the crime deserves the death penalty.

The reward he or she will receive for turning his life around, if he has accepted Jesus into his heart, will be life forever.
