Police investigate theft of video games
More than $1,200 worth of video game systems and accessories was stolen from Sigma Pi fraternity, 303 Fraternity Row, sometime last week, the State College Police Department said.
The items were taken from three separate rooms, police said. A Microsoft Xbox game system, Nintendo GameCube, and GameCube controllers were taken from the first room. The loss was valued at $350. A Sony PlayStation 2 game system and controller were taken from the second room. The loss was valued at $200. A Microsoft Xbox game system, two Nintendo NES game systems, three Xbox controllers, five Xbox games, two Nintendo controllers and 20 Nintendo games were taken from the third room. The loss was valued at about $720.
The fraternity president was at the fraternity over Thanksgiving break but said he did not hear anything out of the ordinary. There were no signs of forced entry, police said. The fraternity president said he believes the thefts occurred between 2 p.m. last Tuesday and 3 p.m. Sunday, police said.
