Police ruined fans' celebrations all year

It really seems as though the State College Police Department and Penn State University Police are trying to ruin all celebrations in this historic Penn State football season. As if the whole Facebook fiasco weren't ridiculous enough, now they are preventing perfectly legal and peaceful celebrations from occurring.

After the biggest Penn State game in the last decade ended last night, my friends and I went to Beaver Canyon to celebrate. All we did was wave our homemade Penn State flags. Literally within 15 seconds, three different State College Police officers approached me and demanded that I kept moving.

Since when am I not allowed to wave a Penn State flag at Penn State? This is America, isn't it? I could not have been any more peaceful in my celebration. I'm surprised they didn't demand I take my jersey off because that could have "sparked a riot."

Simply put, they just need to lighten up.
