After the excitement of the great win over the Spartans on Saturday night, my husband and I drove two hours to State College to welcome the team home.
After the excitement in Rec Hall with Joe Paterno and all the great players arriving to screaming fans, we decided to take a walk down memory lane. My husband and I walked downtown to see the celebrations in action. The chanting of Penn State cheers could be heard across campus, and once arriving downtown, the number of students marching down College Avenue was overwhelming.
Gone were the days of silly rioting that had so many students in trouble. We were so impressed and proud of today's students who were celebrating with dignity. Nothing is more fun than hundreds of students performing an impromptu parade downtown. The spirit and pride of the Lions was alive. Congratulations to the Lions and students -- you make all of the alumni Penn State proud!
