"We are ... Penn State ... This is ... Our house!" These were the words I heard as Penn State locked up the Big Ten Conference championship with a solid victory over Michigan State Saturday. Many Penn State fans also locked up the national championship for being the rudest, most self-centered, obnoxious people to ever visit another campus.
Standing throughout the game in your own stadium and blocking the view of others is one thing. But standing on the bench seats, in front of Michigan State season ticket holders, swearing at them when they ask you to sit down, breaking the benches after the game, and chanting "this is our house," is the worst display of sportsmanship I have witnessed.
Notice to the rude Penn State fans at the game in East Lansing: Spartan Stadium is not your house. You don't have the right to destroy the seats, curse at fans and stand in front of them. You were a guest and you should have been more respectful.
As you travel off to your BCS bowl game please do yourselves a favor and act like you have been there before. For this group of disrespectful fans: Show some class.
