Resources available at Innovation Park
I like Innovation Park and despise it at the very same time ("Petition: Innovation too far, some say," Nov. 17). The main gripe a lot of students have is the travel to Innovation Park -- it's no fun trip. I leave my apartment at least an hour early to get to class at Innovation Park. The shortest it has ever taken me to get there is 45 minutes. The Loop and Link buses are greatly appreciated, but when the Red Link only runs every 15 minutes, this makes it difficult to maintain a strict schedule. If a student has to work on a project at Innovation Park, where most of the editing equipment is held, often it has to be done at off-peak hours. If you have to go to and from Innovation Park during off-peak hours or weekends, sometimes the Red Link only runs every 30 or 45 minutes. All in all though, I think Innovation Park is OK. Yes it is a pain to get to, yes we have to deal with non-Penn State occupants in the buildings, but the hands-on experience and brand new facilities make up for the negatives. Taking classes at Innovation Park is inconvenient, but there is no other logical solution. To my fellow students that attend classes at Innovation Park: suck it up. Chris Herner
