I am thrilled to read discussions about religion, God and spirituality. These issues, like many others, tend to be swept under the rug for the sake of being politically correct. I am writing in response to John Gibson's "Evangelicals forget alternate views exist," Nov. 17. I would like to attempt to clarify some of Gibson's questions as well. Jesus Christ's death and resurrection are considered historical; therefore, they are considered objective. However, each individual's decision regarding the reasons of His death (which is forgiveness of sins and salvation) is subjective, or personal.
Unfortunately, this is a place where people have to agree to disagree. Though opinions vary widely, the fact Jesus died stays the same, and as far Christians are concerned, the reason why Jesus died does not change either.
