I would like to take a minute to remind all those who oppose the use of Facebook.com as a means to apprehend criminals that those who joined the groups admitted to committing a crime ("Site used to aid investigations," Nov. 10). For those who say that Penn State University police should have caught the people at that time instead of a month later, here is a scenario for you: Someone has murdered your friend, but the criminal was not caught at that time. If he posts a Web site with pictures of him committing the crime and brags about it, would you not want the police to check into this? Imagine now that the police used that site as evidence in a trial, but the judge says, "Oh, no, we cannot prosecute because he was not caught at that time." Is this fair?

No matter the severity of the crime, those who join the "I Rushed the Field at Ohio State and Didn't Get Caught" groups are not only admitting to the crime, but bragging about it. Grow up, stop whining about how unfair police services are, and move on in life. There are bigger issues in the world to debate than how you should not be charged after blatantly admitting to a crime.
