About $4,550 worth of jewelry was stolen between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday from the 500 block of Hillcrest Avenue, the State College Police Department said.
The front and rear patio doors of the dwelling were unlocked, and the lid of the resident's jewelry box was ajar with several items on the floor, police said.
A $700 gold herringbone necklace, a $100 silver wristwatch, a $300 gold and pearl necklace, a $2,000 string of pearls, a $300 pair of pearl earrings, a $150 pair of earrings and its matching pendant and 10 to 20 gold and silver necklaces worth $1,000 are all missing, police said. Police said the last person to leave the residence locked the doors, and there was no evidence of forced entry. Police have no suspects at this time.
