There are 20 teams of fraternities and sororities whose skits are supposed to be no more than eight minutes long.
However, during dress rehearsals, teams whose performances were not exceptional were given five-minute limits for their skits.
The money raised by Greek Sing is awarded to outstanding Panhellenic women through the Gayle Beyers Scholarship, founded in 1985.
Additionally, this year the Greek Sing overall committee will also present a male member of the Interfraternity Council (IFC) with the scholarship award.
Jen Badillo (sophomore-public relations) said her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and its partner Sigma Chi, 400 E. Prospect Ave., have been working on their Big rendition every night for the last two weeks.
"We go over all the dances and songs and run through everything," Badillo said. "We have to make sure our dance moves are all together and make sure everyone is loud so everyone in the audience can hear us."
Public Relations and Student Relations Overall Stefanie Sirb said her favorite part of Greek Sing is seeing the fraternity members motivated to do well even though Greek Sing is probably the last thing they would want to be doing.
"When I was chair of Kappa Delta and Pi Kappa Phi, I saw a group of guys in the back working on their dance moves so their dance looked right; it was awesome," Sirb said.
Sirb said that fraternity and sorority members have shown that hard work, spirit and determination will make this year's Greek Sing better than ever before.
"Although it was difficult to find music and scripts, I think this year's Greek Sing will be not only more entertaining than other years, but more surprising as well," Sirb said.
Each sorority and fraternity wins spirit points for attending different greek events throughout the week, which is a big determinant of who wins Greek Sing.
"All the different greek events you attend give your sorority or fraternity spirit points," Badillo said. "If you go into Greek Sing with a lot of points, you have a much better chance of winning the competition."
Special Events Overall Allie Ives said seeing the fraternities' and sororities' creativity progresses from the beginning of Greek Sing to the end is rewarding.
"Greek Sing is an amazing experience for the greek and non-greek community," Ives said.
"I'm really looking forward to seeing the end products of all the hard work organizations have been putting into their performances," he added.
