Elton John has appeared on The Simpsons twice -- or so says Riff, The Music Trivia DVD Game, a game played entirely from a DVD.
This is how it goes: Two teams, red and blue, take turns talking to the TV to answer on-screen puzzles of music videos, songs, lyrics, album covers and photos featuring musical artists from Devo to Busta Rhymes to Faith Hill.
Occasionally, Riff will attach a random piece of trivia; questions like, "What former Pink Floyd member performed at the falling of the Berlin Wall?" might quiet the crowd.
The game's inventor, Brian Hersch (Outburst, Taboo) brings six hours of fun to a music snob's wonderland.
As the game heats up, watch out, because talking may turn to yelling. If the blue team doesn't answer correctly, it's the red team's chance to steal the points.
And if you answer correctly, Riff lets you know with a "Rock on!" If you miss the Sonny and Cher trivia, Riff will mock you with a "We got you, babe!"
For the highly competitive, watch who has possession of the remote control -- the other team may score an extra point while you and your buddy are arguing about who came first, Ice Cube or Ice T.
The game ends with a "Battle of the Bands" showdown, when the teams take turns listing as many items, such as artists whose last names start with "J," to see who racks up the most points to win.
Janis Joplin ... Jack Johnson ... Michael and Janet Jackson ... hmm.
