Evangelicals spread true word of Christ
Upon reading Scott Dimmich's column about college students keeping their faith, I felt obliged to inform Penn State students about the faith Evangelical Christians have ("Keeping faith in college tough, feasible for students," Nov. 15). For starters, we do believe that every word in the Bible is true. Upon reading the New Testament, you will find that Christianity is nothing to be ashamed of, but is a gospel of love, a story about someone who loved us more than Him so much so that He would rather die for your sins. The reason so many Christians seem intolerant of other faiths is because we are. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Today's society has a relative view of truth, which takes away from the essence of the word in the first place. Reality exists regardless of our perception of it. There are objective and subjective things in this world. The fact that Jesus lived and died either happened or it didn't. We believe it did happen and hence we tell others about our faith because we love them and we want everyone to know the good news of Jesus Christ. Bill Zane
