Suspicious activity occurs at complex

The State College Police Department is investigating a series of incidents that occurred at an apartment complex at 127 N. Sparks St.

Police responded to a call at 12:50 a.m. Monday and found that a window screen had been cut. The apartment's occupant heard something and woke up, opened the door and observed an unknown person fleeing the area.

At about 1:17 a.m., police saw that another window screen had been cut at a separate apartment. The occupant did not hear anything and there was no sign of entry, police said.

At about 1:30 p.m., police said, an unknown man posing as an apartment maintenance worker told an occupant he was supposed to fix electrical outlets. The occupant was wary of the man and turned him away. The man reportedly walked off after being refused entry. The apartment complex management said they had not sent the man, police said.
