While I tend to ignore such letters, I felt a need to respond to Joel Tucci's misguided interpretation of the debate ("Women should work in male-dominated jobs," Nov. 11).
He was correct in saying men often dominate engineering classes. However, what Tucci doesn't understand is that feminists are not asking that elementary school teachers get paid the same as engineers. Rather, the female teachers want to be paid the same as male teachers with equal experience. In the same way, I expect to be paid equally to my male electrical engineering co-workers. The fact is, this doesn't happen in today's society. This is what we are aiming to change. Makes a lot more sense now, doesn't it?
