Feminism contradictory of its authentic values
I think a lot of people misunderstand Scott Dimmich's column "Feminist society would dissatisfy many women," Nov. 8. Dimmich is not saying feminism is right or wrong; he is saying that feminism will bring a drastic change, not only to the work force, but also to culture and tradition. Women can't demand equality but still want the guy to pay for dinner. At the very least, such discrepancies change how men view the movement. I don't know if I should pay for my girlfriend's ticket to the movies because I'm afraid she'll say she's independent and can afford her own. If a girl wants to pay for her own dinner, I'm perfectly fine with that. But women have to know that feminism isn't just equal pay and equal representation; there are a lot of different connotations.
