I can't believe the police can't let go of the whole Ohio State incident and that they want to find any and all means, such as photos on Facebook.com, to identify and prosecute everyone who rushed the field that night ("Site used to aid investigations," Nov. 10).
I understand the police want to keep fans safe and the stadium turf intact, and I'm sure most fans appreciate that. But the university really needs to focus on prevention and not the cure. I think stating the policy and punishment up front would have acted as a significant deterrent. But instead of doing that, now we're going to be faced with an even greater pandemonium in which students who use Facebook and who rushed the field are now collectively freaking out in mass paranoia.
