Presence of troops will benefit Iraqis
In response to Ahmed Feteha's letter ("Americans should thank Iraqi people," Nov. 7), I believe Feteha is clearly mistaken. It is obvious he has no idea how the American military works. Our armed forces do not just run around and kill civilians, in fact they go out of their way to prevent the loss of civilian lives. I will agree that the loss of life in Iraq is saddening and unfortunate, but must state that it is a part of change and making things better. Thanks to American troops things are improving in Iraq. If Feteha had taken the time to talk to any soldier who has been to Iraq, then he would've known this already. The Iraqi people should be thankful to the thousands of Americans who have put their lives on hold for Iraq's sake. And they will forever be indebted to those who gave their lives for the freedom that will be given to them, just as we in America are. Brian McNally
