Penn State is consistently one of the most expensive state schools ("Taxpayers foot overall university tuition bill," Nov. 7). Add to that the fact that tuition and room and board increase more and more each year. On top of that Penn State still screws us over by giving us less and less for our money.
Where does all of our money go? To put it plainly, it gets wasted. It goes toward retiling the floor of Redifer Commons after the initial renovation. It goes toward putting in a sidewalk by Beaver Stadium, then tearing up the side walk, making it narrower and pouring a new sidewalk. And of course, we can't forget to pay outrageous sums of money paid to the university's administration.
To all of the alumni, I say this: Forget about giving money to the school, the school doesn't need it. Instead give your support to scholarships, academic departments or set funds. Those are the things that are withering while the campus is sucking every single one of us dry. To the students: Do what you must; boycott, protest, run for Undergraduate Student Government office. Just do something.
