Students report harrassment near HUB

A student reported at about 10 a.m. Thursday that a man initiated unwanted physical contact with her while walking on East College Avenue near the Health and Human Development Building, Penn State University Police said. Four additional victims reported similar incidents with the same suspect between 10 a.m. and noon. All incidents occurred in the vicinity of the HUB-Robeson Center, university police said. The State College Police Department said a female reported at about 7 p.m. Thursday that she was grabbed by a man who made a lewd statement in the same vicinity as the other incidents. State College police said it is connected with the university police investigation. University police said they have a suspect and the expected charges will be indecent assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Female defecates in police department

A 20-year-old Penn State student was cited after an incident at 3 a.m. Saturday in the lobby of the State College Police Department, 243 S. Allen St.

A Penn State University Police auxiliary officer found the semi-conscious, partially dressed woman after she had defecated on the floor and rolled in it, police said.

The woman told police she thought the building was her home, and she was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center to be treated for an alcohol overdose, police said.

Janitors had to be called to clean and sanitize the area, and the doors were left open to air out the building, police said.

Police said the building's doors are always left unlocked, but the public bathrooms on the first floor are locked at night.

The woman was given citations for a minor's law violation, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.

Car stolen from G-Man's parking lot

A red 1991 Oldsmobile Cutlass was stolen at about 1 a.m. Saturday from the rear parking lot of The Gingerbread Man, 130 Hiester St., the State College Police Department said. The car, which was owned by one of the restaurant's delivery drivers, was left unlocked with the keys inside while the driver was inside the restaurant. Police said they have no suspects at this time.

2 men assaulted with broken bottles

Two visitors were assaulted at about 3 a.m. Saturday by two men who used broken bottles as weapons, the State College Police Department said.

According to police, witnesses said there had been some type of verbal altercation between the two groups of men earlier that night in Beaver Hill apartments, 340 E. Beaver Ave., and the two visitors were chased down a hallway by the men with broken bottles. Police said the men were taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for treatment -- one victim suffered a large gash in his left ear and neck and the other had blood under his nose. Police said they have good leads and expect to have concrete details in the next few days.
