Penn State senior women's soccer players Lindsay Bach and Erin McLeod have both been named 2005 first team ESPN the Magazine All-District II, as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Bach, this year's Big Ten Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and McLeod were both named first team all-Big Ten Wednesday night at a reception held in conjunction with the Big Ten Tournament.
The second consecutive Penn State player to receive Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors, Bach's first team all-conference nod was the first of her career. A second year co-captain, she was also Penn State's Big Ten Sportsmanship nominee. Bach is a key for the Lion defense, which has held its opponents to only 13 goals in 19 games. The Lions, ranked No. 1 for the first time school history, are 19-0 heading into Big Ten Tournament action last night. Bach was a second team ESPN the Magazine all-District II selection in 2004 and has also garnered Academic All-Big Ten honors during her career.
