Weimer named Big Ten Offensive Player of Year

Three Nittany Lions picked up individual awards, and six Lions earned all-Big Ten honors Wednesday night at the Big Ten's pre-tournament reception. National player of the year candidate Tiffany Weimer garnered her second-straight Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year honor, while senior co-captain Lindsay Bach was named Co-Defensive Player of the Year.

Head coach Paula Wilkins earned her fourth Big Ten Coach of the Year honor in five years for leading the No. 1 Nittany Lions to a perfect 19-0 mark overall and their second straight perfect Big Ten season.

Four Lions earned first team all-Big Ten honors. In addition to Weimer and Bach, starting goalkeeper Erin McLeod and midfielder Ali Krieger were also named to the all-conference first team. Weimer and Krieger were the only unanimous selections for all-Big Ten honors. Additionally, senior defender Natalie Jacobs and freshman midfielder Allie Long were both named to the second team.

Long and midfielder Sheree Gray both garnered Big Ten all-freshman team accolades.
