Column on religion shows discrimination
I find it remarkable that the acts of Christian evangelists cause Kate Ericsson so much consternation, yet the "evangelism" of other non-Christian groups obviously don't bother her at all ("Aggressive evangelical message falls on deaf ears," Oct. 31). It's funny how it's acceptable for Ericsson to single out evangelical Christians to bear the brunt of her wrath. But can you imagine the outrage if she referred to the "evangelism" of gay rights groups on campus as insulting? Can you imagine the reaction if she were to call abortion rights pamphlet-givers a zealot and to condemn their literature as propaganda? Once again, the Collegian is lacking in professional judgment. In running her opinion column, the editors of The Daily Collegian provide tacit approval for the continuation of this anti-Christian agenda. Michael Peterson
