Letter to the Editor
Students should stop eating meals in class

Imagine walking into a board meeting and the Moo Shu Pork you hold in your hand releases a distinct powerful aroma that wafts through the room.

No one else in the room is eating, and the only things on the table besides notebooks and portfolios are a pitcher of water and some glasses. People stare while you pick up a fork and start eating. Seem like a good idea?

Unfortunately some students attending classes simply can't go without that mid-lecture meal.

Eating Chinese food might have seemed like a great idea when you bought it, but for those sitting next to you and around you the strong odor is unappetizing. I like Chinese but not in conjunction with Sociology 001 (Introductory Sociology).

If you must nourish yourself during that afternoon class, try a snack bar or at least eat something you don't need to use a fork to eat.

Be sure your choice allows you to remain covert to the students three rows back, or in other words, forego the powerfully smelling food groups.

Trust me, you won't be starving if you hold off on that Lo Mein for an hour.
