I want to thank Andrew Staub for his column on manners ("Manners necessary for all facets of student life," Oct. 28).

I've been annoyed lately with the lack of manners on campus. Is it really that hard to say "thank you" when I stop to hold a door for you? He put it perfectly, "...these simple things can make someone's day." It really does brighten my day if someone is polite enough to hold a door for me or actually says thank you after I hold a door for them.

What happened to the manners with which the students of Penn State were raised?
